Lunchtime Stroll, Part 2

Lunchtime Entertainment

Entertainment at IFC mall.

I took several shots from the second floor and was pleasantly surprised that the angle I took this particular picture at made the normally yellowish floor tiles look really washed out. I increased the exposure in iPhoto, played with the contrast a bit to accentuate the effect, and cropped out the surrounding audience. To me, this resulting photo looks like a cut-out.

It seriously looks like a pic you’d find in a brochure or a playbill. That photo class has really been paying off.

Thanks A! The photography class was helpful because I got a better handle on basic things like aperture and shutter speed and what they do, so if I take a picture that I like, my chances of recreating that effect are slightly higher. But as for the actual photo-taking and editing, that stuff is either pure talent or pure accident. ;)

Alicia is right, that picture could easily be used in a brochure. You are a gifted photographer!

okay, I have no idea how to crop stuff out in iPhoto. I’m such a loser.
