Noah, during the magic show at his friend, Claire’s, birthday party.
The original photo was completely sharp — I used a focal soften effect to blur everything except Noah. The feeling I was hoping to emphasize was his complete lack of interest in the show.

I love focal blur… it’s way too easy to overuse!
This picture cracks me up – it so reminds me of him. Oh sidenote… I cut off all of Nevan’s hair last night, and when he looked in the mirror he giggled and said “I look like NOAH!”

Hilarious~ I love that he’s not even just turned to the side in disinterest…he’s actually turned AROUND.

Effect used well – it really makes Noah the focus of the picture. And hee, kids and their random non-interest.

I LOVE this effect, and it’s put to good use in the photo. Did you just use basic photoshop to do it? I’ve wanted to learn how to do this forever.

I actually used picnik to edit this photo. Picnik is a free online photo editor — it’s so awesome and very easy to use. I highly recommend it.
