Another multiple picture post. Brought to you by jet lag. And procrastination.

Amusement Park

The Elmer’s Weather Balloon ride at Six Flag’s Discovery Kingdom.

Because it’s a children’s ride, the paint on the ride is ridiculously bright and garish. I toned down the color which I think gives it a nice retro feel.

A Rough Day Bookended By Sweetness

Gardenias

Noah started out this morning all sweetness and light, bringing me three gardenias — my favorite flower — he’d picked on a morning walk with his Lolo. This was followed by roughly seven hours of what I can only generously describe as “snot-nosed brattiness”. Fortunately the day ended with me getting my sweet, goofy boy back. Here he is taking his new inline skates out for a test drive:

I’ve been taking pictures every day. I just haven’t been posting. So here are four days worth of pictures in one post.

Piano

When your only grandson is in town, you allow certain things to happen in your house you would never have previously tolerated. Like letting an expensive musical instrument become a basketball hoop backboard/landing strip/parking lot.

Luggage

Excessive trip preparation. Not shown: an extra empty duffel bag packed inside my suitcase (in case of excessive shopping) and a baby stroller.

In-Flight Sleeping

Who says it’s difficult to fall asleep on airplanes?

Sanchez Women

A backyard barbecue featuring the Sanchez women and Noah — who probably wishes he was hanging with the men. After a 14 hour flight on Sunday night, Noah and I arrived in CA…still on Sunday…and earlier than when our flight took off in Hong Kong. It has been Sunday for two days now.

Red Suede

My wonderful sweetheart of a husband took pity on me and surprised me tonight with the red suede purse I’d been coveting for months now. Unfortunately the lighting in my house is crappy so the color in the photo is not the luscious deep red that it is in real life and no amount of color correcting could fix it but this is as close as I could get to its real color. But who knew a new purse could make one person so happy?

Passport

I had to to go to the Consulate today to add more pages to my passport so in recognition of that, this is the stamp in my passport from when we first moved to Hong Kong.
